Bluefield University Celebrates the Life of Judy Pedneau

Bluefield University joins the Celebration of Life honoring Judy Pedneau, who entered her eternal rest on October 13, 2025. A devoted member of the Bluefield University family, Judy served faithfully as Director of Human Resources, where she was known for her professionalism and compassion.

Beyond her work at the University, Judy was deeply rooted in her faith community. She also gave of her time and talents through civic engagements. Judy’s life reflected a beautiful harmony of faith, service, and compassion, a legacy that continues to inspire all who knew her.

She was the beloved mother of Joy Anderson, cherished grandmother to Garrett Harper, and a devoted friend to many across the University and the community. Her family, church, and campus colleagues were the center of her life, and she poured her heart into each with remarkable love and devotion.

“Judy was more than a colleague, she was a mentor, a friend,” said Caroline Dixon, Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration. “Her kindness and steady presence made everyone around her feel valued. She truly loved people, and that love guided everything she did at Bluefield. We will miss her laughter and her caring spirit every single day.”

Bluefield University offers heartfelt condolences to Judy’s family, friends, and church community. Her legacy of faith and service will forever remain in the lives she profoundly touched.
