Graphic Communication
For students, Graphic Communication is a vibrant field. This concentration emphasizes the importance of visual storytelling and design in today’s media landscape. Learners gain expertise in areas like typography, layout design, branding, digital illustration, print production, and interactive media. Career opportunities range from graphic designer, brand strategist, and illustrator, to web designer and print technician.
Modern Media
Modern media needs ethical thinkers and expert communicators. They may tell stories as a news reporter, promote products and services for a corporation, or coordinate publicity for a non-profit organization using traditional and new media. Students learn to work across all different platforms of media as writers, reporters, editors, web and publication designers, or publicists.
Theatre
Theatre as a concentration within a communication major explores the dynamic role of performance in effective communication. Students delve into acting, directing, scriptwriting, stage design, and the history of theatre, learning how these skills enhance storytelling and audience engagement. Career paths include theatre director, stage manager, playwright, and communication specialist in arts organizations.
