Bluefield University is inviting current and former members of its musical ensembles for its biennial Music Alumni Reunion Weekend. Rehearsals begin on Friday, April 10, 2026, with rehearsals and a performance on Saturday, April 11.
“All former BU music majors, minors, ensemble members, and friends of the program are invited back to campus for a special weekend of music-making and reunion,” said music professor Dr. Jeremy Yowell. “This year’s celebration features an alumni choir led by Craig Courtney, an alumni concert band, time to reconnect, and a culminating performance with current students.”
Community members are invited to attend the Saturday night concert for free. Alumni and friends can register to rehearse and perform for only $25. Registration is open until April 10 and available at bluefield.edu/alumni/alumni-events-services/music-alumni-reunion-weekend/.
“Bluefield University is excited to welcome back our music alumni this spring,” said Director of Alumni Relations Megan Brandl. “For years, the two Bluefields have cherished these ensembles. Now, we get to come together again and celebrate the music program’s legacy and impact.”
After the April reunion, Bluefield’s choral alumni have the opportunity to perform with director Craig Courtney again this fall. Courtney will conduct his “Divine Encounter” concert in New York City’s Carnegie Hall in November. Alumni have until March 1 to register for this choral residency by contacting Dr. Yowell at [email protected].
