University Forum Highlights Progress and Momentum

by | Jan 6, 2026

Bluefield University faculty and staff came together for a University Forum to get updates from President Dr. Steve Peterson and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and to discuss the institution’s progress and future plans. The meeting provided an overview of important areas of the University and conveyed a strong message of confidence and stability.

During the forum, ELT members shared updates from their respective areas, highlighting positive momentum in enrollment, finances, facilities, academic programs, and campus life. Presentations emphasized steady enrollment growth across all campuses, improved financial management, ongoing campus enhancements, and the expansion of academic offerings to meet student needs.

Dr. Peterson wrapped up the forum with a key message to the campus community: stay the course. He thanked the faculty and staff for their dedication and confirmed that the University is progressing as planned, and as they prayed for about a year and a half ago. He pointed out that the progress happening now is the result of intentional planning, shared commitment, and faithfulness to the University’s mission.

The President highlighted that many positive developments are occurring throughout the institution, not only in measurable outcomes such as enrollment and finances, but also in the spiritual life across our community. He stressed that Bluefield University is committed to its Christian mission and that spiritual formation remains a core strength of the University community.

The University Forum served as both an update and an encouragement, reinforcing that the collective efforts of faculty and staff are making a difference. As the University continues forward, the message remains clear: remain focused, trust the plan, and stay the course.
