Recording Artist Nicole Serrano Will Host Special Worship Service At Bluefield University

by | Feb 13, 2019

Singer-songwriter Nicole Serrano and Bluefield University’s Center for the Worship Arts will host a special worship service on February 20, at 10 a.m. in Harman Chapel at Bluefield University. Serrano has been on NBC’s “The Voice,” served as a lead worshipper at Red Rocks Church in Colorado, and currently is touring with Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Chris Tomlin as a featured artist. Serrano will visit Bluefield University just before she goes on the road with Chris Tomlin next month for his six month “Holy Roar” tour which will launch in Kent, Washington on March 7.

Serrano’s visit to Bluefield University will also include a worship roundtable discussion which will begin at 11 a.m. in Shott Hall A&B. Lunch will be served with special guests in Shott Hall at noon.

A native New-Yorker and Nashville-based singer-songwriter, Nicole Serrano is taking her place on the music scene. This stunning young artist has a dynamic voice and is a poignant songwriter who plays with contagious passion. Nicole began singing in the church at age 10, and continued her development during University with David Pedde, current director for the Center of Worship Arts at Bluefield University, as she honed her craft and ignited her passion for worship.

In 2008, Nicole released her debut album and successfully sold numerous copies as an independent artist. In 2010, “What I Really Wanna Say,” written with Jonathan Lee, lit up on YouTube. Fans and listeners shared it with friends all over the web and seemingly overnight, it reached throughout the U.S. and overseas. In the beginning of 2011, McPherson Guitars saw the video and signed on Nicole as one of their endorsed artists.

In the fall of 2012, talent scouts for NBC’s hit show and #1 singing competition, “The Voice” contacted Serrano to audition for the show and was premiered in the first episode of season 4. Serrano has shared the stage with artists like Starfield, Derek Webb, Superchick, Luminate, Group 1 Crew, Remedy Drive, and Hyland, to name a few. She’s also collaborated with great writers like Mia Fieldes, Jeff Deyo, Sarah Reeves, Michael Farren, Phillip LaRue, and many others.
