Assistant/Associate Professor – Biology

Bluefield University and faculty within the Biology department are searching for a reliable and passionate full-time biology professor to join our team. Specifically, Bluefield University is looking for someone to strengthen the Biology department with a background in ecology, zoology, and/or botany while also having experience in general biology or human biology and excelling in laboratory experiments related to the subjects.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering engaging material to undergraduate students of various backgrounds
  • Monitor student and class performance; adjust content delivery strategies to meet the needs of the students
  • Establish classroom and laboratory expectations and experiences for science courses
  • Become familiar with course offerings within and outside of the department for advising and mentoring of undergraduate students
  • Serve on department, college, and/or university committees
  • Participate in appropriate professional organizations

Required Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in Biology or related science; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom setting and commitment to quality student education; Strong commitment to creating an environment that fosters diversity and inclusion.
