Lindsey Akers of Welch, West Virginia has been named Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Bluefield University. She began her duties on Nov. 1.
Akers has a background in higher education having served as an instructor in the Department of Communication Arts & Media at Concord for the past 11 years. Akers also has adjunct taught at Marshall University Community & Technical College in Huntington, West Virginia and at Bluefield University. In addition to her higher education experience, Lindsey also has retail management experience and a background in sales.
She earned a master’s degree in communication studies from Marshall University and a bachelor’s degree in communication arts with an emphasis in public relations from Concord University.
“I am very excited to be working as part of the Advancement team here at Bluefield University. We have an excellent team here and everyone has made me feel so welcome,” Akers said.
