Bluefield University is excited to welcome its alumni and friends to campus for the 2025 Homecoming and Family Weekend, Friday, November 7, through Sunday, November 9.
Festivities begin on Friday with a golf outing for the university’s alumni and friends, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Fincastle.
At noon in Shott Hall, BU’s Hospitality Room will open in rooms A and B, and the Homecoming Family Luncheon will be held in the dining hall.
There will be a Ram 2 Ram panel held at 12:30 p.m. in the Jack Marcom Student Center of Shott Hall. Students can hear from Bluefield University alumni as they share stories about their time at BU and what life has been like after graduation.
Beginning at 2:30 p.m., a mixer for alumni and friends will be held in Shott Hall rooms A and B.
A reception for this year’s recipients of the Dr. Donna Watson Goodness and Light Alumni Award will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Easley Library. This award recognizes teacher education graduates for their excellence in schools and classrooms.
The Golden Graduate Reception will follow at 6:30 p.m. in Shott Hall rooms A and B, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the class of 1975.
The institution’s annual bonfire will be held outside the Dome Gymnasium at 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Hospitality Room will reopen and breakfast will begin to be served at 8:00 a.m. in Shott Hall.
A campus tour will be offered by our student ambassadors at 9:00 a.m., starting at the front steps of Lansdell Hall.
The Alumni Association will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Chandler Boardroom on the third floor of Lansdell Hall.
A second alumni mixer will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Shott Hall.
The Alumni Awards Banquet will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Harman Chapel. Alumni are nominated by their peers to be recognized for community service, professional accomplishments, and personal achievements.
The Rams football team will face off against the University of Rio Grande Red Storm at 1:30 p.m. at Mitchell Stadium. Prior to the game, a tailgate lunch will be available in the stadium parking lot at 11:30 a.m.
Bluefield University’s music and theatre departments will host “Abundance: Good Measure, Pressed Down, Shaken Together, and Running Over,” beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Harman Chapel.
Finally, a student dance will be held in Shott Hall, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
The weekend concludes on Sunday after worship with Highlands Fellowship at 11:00 a.m. in Harman Chapel and a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in Shott Hall.
