Bluefield University held an Employee Workshop on Thursday, August 14, to discuss policies, upcoming events, and new programs for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Staff from the human resources and business departments shared best practices that correspond with the university’s paperless initiative, while members of the campus safety and Title IX deputy teams reviewed procedures to protect the campus community. Additionally, employees received updates from the maintenance, information technology, and marketing departments, as well as the registrar’s office and employee wellness committee.
Dean of Students Kristen Parker explained new residence life and student engagement strategies before sharing the activity schedule for Welcome Week. Next week, the university will host orientation sessions and its final move-in day, along with several opportunities for students to connect, like a worship night, bingo, and a pool party.
Campus Pastor Mason West provided an update on student ministry. Worship arts students recently participated in the university’s Worship Camp, and the student ministry leadership team will engage in training through the end of this week. Duremdes Christian Emphasis Week will be held September 24-26 with guest speaker Markus Mcfolling.
The academic year begins on Wednesday, August 20, with the start of classes and the university’s annual President’s Convocation and Connection Fair events.
