Depending on your relationship with the University and the messaging program for which you have provided consent, messages may include:

  • Admissions, application, and enrollment information;
  • Academic or student-service communications;
  • Financial aid and account-related information;
  • Event information and reminders;
  • University news and announcements;
  • Recruitment and outreach communications;
  • Appointment, deadline, or other reminders;
  • Alumni and advancement communications; and
  • Other information related to University programs, services, or activities.

Consent to receive marketing or promotional text messages is not required as a condition of applying to, enrolling at, purchasing from, or otherwise receiving services from Bluefield University.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies depending on the messaging program, your relationship with the University, and your interactions with us.

Message and data rates may apply to messages sent to you by the University and messages you send to the University. Charges are determined by your mobile service provider and your wireless plan.

Opting Out

You may opt out of a Bluefield University text messaging program at any time by replying STOP to the number from which you received the message.

After submitting an opt-out request, you may receive a confirmation message indicating that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive messages associated with that messaging program unless you subsequently opt in again.

Opting out of one messaging program may not opt you out of other Bluefield University communications or messaging programs for which you have separately provided consent or that the University is otherwise permitted to send.
