Community members are invited to the free “Sighs Into Song: Instruments & Voices in Triumphal Faith” concert. Held on Saturday, April 11, it will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Harman Chapel on the Bluefield University campus.
The concert is part of the university’s biennial Music Alumni Reunion Weekend, celebrating the legacy and ongoing impact of BU’s music programs. The evening will include performances by both current students and alumni who have been part of the university’s musical ensembles.
Performers will include an alumni band directed by Dr. Andy Necessary, bringing together former instrumentalists for a special reunion performance. Guest alumni conductors will also lead selected pieces throughout the program.
Additionally, an alumni choir will perform under the direction of Craig Courtney in preparation for the “Divine Encounter” concert this November, where BU students and graduates will again perform under Courtney’s direction at Carnegie Hall.
