Undergraduate Commencement – Family & Friends

It’s time for the big day!

Commencement is a big day for our graduates at Bluefield University and family and friends are central to the experience. Visitors are encouraged to review the information below to help plan their visit to Bluefield University for the commencement ceremony. We can’t wait to see you!

Location
The commencement ceremony will be held on campus (3000 College Avenue in Bluefield, Virginia) in the Quad.

Parking
Family and Guest parking will be available along the front entrance of campus (#17, 16, 15 on Campus Map). The parking lot directly behind Shott Hall (#14 on Campus Map) will be reserved for graduates, faculty, staff, and volunteers.

Graduate Arrival
Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 graduates are to report to the front steps of Lansdell Hall wearing their cap and gown, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th, for Commencement instructions and the class photo. Graduates will receive cords during this time.

Time
The commencement ceremony will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m.

Video
The 2024 Commencement will be recorded and shared through the Bluefield University YouTube channel. (This will be linked to our various social media accounts.)

Photos
A campus photographer will be taking pictures throughout the ceremony. Commencement photos will be uploaded to the Bluefield University Facebook page. Family and friends are welcome to take photos after the ceremony on or near the stage area as well as outside around campus.
