Undergraduate Commencement – Family & Friends
It’s time for the big day!
Commencement is a big day for our graduates at Bluefield University and family and friends are central to the experience. Visitors are encouraged to review the information below to help plan their visit to Bluefield University for the commencement ceremony. We can’t wait to see you!
Location
The commencement ceremony will be held on the Bluefield University campus at 3000 College Avenue, Bluefield, Virginia in Harman Chapel (#11 on the Campus Map).
Parking
Family and Guest parking will be available along the front entrance of campus (#17, 16, 15 on Campus Map). The parking lot directly behind Shott Hall (#14 on Campus Map) will be reserved for graduates, faculty, staff, and volunteers.
Parking for those with limited mobility will be available near VanDyke Circle between Rish Hall (#10 on the Campus Map) and Harman Chapel (#11 on the Campus Map).
Graduate Arrival
Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 graduates participating in the 10:00 a.m. ceremony are to report to the front steps of Lansdell Hall wearing their cap and gown, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2nd, for Commencement instructions and the class photo. Graduates will receive cords during this time.
Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 graduates participating in the 3:00 p.m. ceremony are to report to the front steps of Lansdell Hall wearing their cap and gown, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd, for Commencement instructions and the class photo. Graduates will receive cords during this time.
Time
The commencement ceremonies will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Video
The 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. 2026 Undergraduate Commencements will be recorded and shared through the Bluefield University YouTube channel.
Photos
A campus photographer will be taking pictures throughout the ceremony. Commencement photos will be shared via Facebook and Google Photos. Family and friends are welcome to take photos after the ceremony on or near the stage area as well as outside around campus.
Hospitality Services
Prior to the ceremony, refreshments will be available in Lansdell Hall (#12 on the Campus Map).

Bluefield University apparel is available at the Campus Store in Shott Hall (#14 on the Campus Map). Additional items are available online.
