Bluefield University has welcomed new and returning students to campus for its spring 2026 semester! The Office of Student Development is inviting traditional students for its latest round of Welcome Week activities, held January 12-17, 2026.
On Monday, Campus Ministries is hosting its first Home service of the year in Harman Chapel. The Home Social Hour begins at 6 p.m., featuring journal decorating and a coffee and hot chocolate bar by Aubade Coffee. The service starts at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Bingo will kick off at 8 p.m. in the dining hall of Shott Hall.
On Wednesday, the women’s and men’s basketball teams will compete against the Johnson University Royals in Knoxville, TN. Watch parties will be held in the Jack Marcom Student Center of Shott Hall, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
On Thursday, students can compete in basketball and dodgeball tournaments, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Dome Gymnasium.
On Friday, students will travel to Wytheville, VA, to watch the Blue Ridge Bobcats and Twin City Thunderbirds hockey teams compete. A limited number of tickets and van seats are available to students for free. Students should email the Student Activities team for more details.
On Saturday, students are invited for tie-dying, canvas painting, and games in the Jack Marcom Student Center, beginning at 2 p.m.
Throughout the week, students can share their Welcome Week point-of-view with the Lense digital disposable camera app. QR codes are available to scan throughout the campus on flyers and the announcement screens.
