The School of Education and Social Sciences at Bluefield University is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor for Elementary Education reading courses. Preferred candidates will have earned a reading specialist master’s degree and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience in an elementary school (PreK-6). Responsibilities will include teaching one on-campus reading class in the spring semester one evening per week as well as updating course content and grading assignments online on Canvas.
Candidates must have earned a master’s degree in education or curriculum and instruction with preferred candidates having earned a reading specialist degree. Candidates need to have prior experience in teaching elementary (PreK-6) reading and language arts with preferred candidates having experience in diagnostic and remedial work with elementary (PreK-6) students in the area of reading. Candidates must have a valid Virginia teaching license in elementary education (PreK-6) and work within the Virginia state licensure regulations and the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) teacher education competencies.
