POSITION OPENING: Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology
JOB SUMMARY: The School of Education and Social Sciences seeks applications for a fullĀ time Assistant or Associate Professor in Psychology to start August 2022.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidates will provide service to Bluefield University, the School of Education and Social Sciences, and the profession. Candidates are also expected to provide faceĀ to-face and online teaching experiences at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Specifically, theĀ successful candidates are expected to provide education which aligns within the framework of the psychology curricula, promoting and enhancing student success by using contemporary methods of evidence-based pedagogy, and demonstrating the ability to engage students in the learning process.
A doctorate in counseling psychology or related field is desirable. In addition, this position requires candidates to possess professional licensure in counseling and experience in the development of graduate level counseling programs. Candidates must also have the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff, and must possess effective communication skills both verbal and written that will represent Bluefield University and the Psychology program within the community and most importantly to the student and prospective students.
The individual must be a committed Christian and able to integrate faith and learning, foster critical and creative thinking, and work cooperatively within the campus community to advance the mission of the University. The candidate must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
