Open and free to the public, the All Sons and Daughters Coffeehouse will take place in BC’s recently renovated Student Activities Center and Quick Shott Café inside Shott Hall at 7:30 p.m.
The worship duo of David Leonard and Leslie Jordan, now known as All Sons and Daughters, began in the summer of 2009 at Journey Church in Franklin, Tennessee, when the two began writing and performing worship songs together.
Jordan had been leading worship since age 14 in her own church and for churches and conferences across the United States. Leonard had performing with the Jackson Waters band in college before touring on his own with Need to Breathe from 2008 to 2010.
While meeting the music ministry needs of Journey Church, the two became a duo and recorded their first EP, “Brokenness Aside,” as All Sons and Daughters in 2010 — a project that shares the message of God’s restorative love.
“All Sons and Daughters is more than a worship band,” said Jay King, vice president artist development for Integrity Records. “They represent us as people who are still on a journey, and they are creating the soundtrack for that journey.”
Still on staff as worship leaders at Journey Church, Leonard and Jordan are traveling around the country sharing their message and music. They recently performed for The Know Hope Collective, a groundbreaking initiative that combines worship music with stories of hope and inspiration created by Audio Adrenaline alumni Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss.
They will be performing at Bluefield College promoting their second EP, “Reason to Sing,” released in January 2012 and featuring the modern psalm “Buried in the Grave”, co-written with Hillsong’s Mia Fieldes, and “Oh, Our Lord”, a celebration of the God of Creation, penned with Dove Award-winning writer Paul Baloche.
