Alaska Product Joins Lady Rams - March 18, 2009

Bluefield, Va. -- Kelsie Cline has lived in Alaska her entire life and will now be making the cross-country trek no less than 4,161 miles from her hometown of Wasilla as she decided on Bluefield as her college destination.

Cline -- a 6'2 middle hitter/blocker -- didn't start playing volleyball until her freshman year at  Wasilla High School.

She was strictly an athlete on the basketball court prior to her high school career.

Cline was an All-Region performer during her senior season and was recognized as the "Best Blocker" on the Wasilla team.

Third-year Lady Rams head coach Jaime Bowman is thrilled to have Cline on board and is optimistic about her and the team's future prospects.

"Kelsie is bringing the height and talent that we need to fill our hitting and blocking positions," Bowman said.

"She visited BC and practiced with the team back in January and I was very impressed with her leadership abilities and level of play.  I look forward to seeing her in action in this conference.  Our ball club will be very young this upcoming season but I see great things in our future."
