Assistant Professor of Biology
Bluefield College invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology to begin August 2010. Ph.D. required. Responsibilities include teaching anatomy/physiology, zoology, and environmental science depending on background and department needs, integrating technology into teaching, providing interactive and investigative laboratory experiences for students, participating in academic advising, and active participation in the pre-health curriculum as well as possible appointment as Chair of the Division of Science and Mathematics. 
 
The individual must be a committed Christian and have ability to integrate faith and learning, ability to foster critical and creative thinking, ability to work cooperatively within the campus community to advance the mission of the college and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Instructor of Languages 
Bluefield College invites applications for an enthusiastic languages teacher with the skills to inspire students to become global citizens. Primary emphasis is on basic language, conversation, and cultural courses, with some advanced courses for majors. Preference will be given to candidates who have at least a Master's in Spanish (Ph.D. preferred), experience with study abroad programs and have at least eighteen graduate hours in a second language and/or writing.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminal Justice
Bluefield College invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminial Justice to begin January 2009.  The college also maintains campuses in Roanoke and Richmond and will consider an appointment for a person living in the Richmond metropolitan area. Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses in Criminal Justice with particular emphasis in Social Research Methods as well as willingness to support the needs of the department including but not limited to advising students, committee participation and engagement in the life of the college.
 
Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Criminal Justice, faculty experience, excellence in undergraduate teaching, and commitment to student learning as well as three to five years of work experience in criminal justice related professions. Experience teaching adult students in a non-traditional format is desired and the ability to teach in an online format is essential. Eligible candidates with 18 or more graduate hours in the field of corrections are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have demonstrated Christian commitment and lifestyle, ability to integrate faith and learning, and ability to work cooperatively within the campus community to advance the mission of the college.

The College currently welcomes applications for adjunct instructors to teach Management & Leadership, Behavioral Science, Christian Studies, and Criminal Justice in its accelerated degree completion program. Classes are held online and at various locations throughout the state. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree including 18 graduate hours in the discipline taught.

A bachelor’s degree is required.  Responsibilities include: recruiting adult students; travel to education fairs; visits to corporations and community colleges; evening and some weekend work required; and other duties as assigned. Director of Information Services and Technology
The office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) welcomes applications for the full-time exempt position of Director of Information Services and Technology (IST). The Director of IST will manage all aspects of information services and technology, including administrative and academic technology and related infrastructure.  Operational areas include, but are not limited to, administrative computing, academic computing, network services, and telecommunications.  Responsibilities include evaluating, recommending, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and budgeting for all areas of information services and technology.  Coordination and communication throughout the campus are essential, as is interaction with external vendors and constituents.  A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree is preferred.  Experience in a college or university technology environment also is preferred.  An applicant should possess great customer service skills, be a strong team player, and have problem solving skills, in addition to having technology training and experience.  We anticipate filling this position by March 1, 2010.  To apply, download an employment application, and send, along with a letter of interest, resume and statement of Christian faith to:
