The Chemistry Major
When you major in chemistry at Bluefield College, you will begin your studies with the fundamentals of the discipline and move on to more advanced concepts and laboratory work in fields such as biochemistry, organic chemistry, instrumental analysis or analytical chemistry. In keeping with our promise to personalize each student’s education, you will find small class sizes with all science coursework and laboratories taught by full-time faculty holding a Ph.D.
As part of your chemistry major, you will complete an internship giving you hands-on, practical experience related to your career plans. Your internship might be in a pharmacy, physician’s office, research or industrial laboratory, or working side by side with your chemistry professor as an academic intern.
