![]() Hi, I am Maggie Lavoie. I joined the staff January 2008 as an admissions counselor at Bluefield College. I graduated in 2006 with a BA in Theater and a minor in Art. After graduation I worked in the area while my husband went off to Marine Corps Boot Camp. The best decision we have made is staying in Bluefield while he serves in a local Reserves unit. The summer after my freshman year at BC, I went home to Franklin County, VA and worked at my local hardware store. I remember customers would inquire about my Mud Pig Day shirts. All I could do was talk about how great Bluefield College was. From the intimate classrooms and a caring faculty and staff to the beautiful ski slopes less than an hour away, I knew that this college was something special! My four years were filled with the best memories and the best friends of my life. I would love to share my experience with you! Please feel free to contact me at 1-800-872-0175 ext. 465, email me at mlavoie@bluefield.edu or chat with me on AIM, MSN or Yahoo! My screen name is bluefieldmaggie.
![]() Hi, I'm Kathy Shott, an admission counselor at Bluefield College. I have a BA in Recreation from UNC-Greensboro and previously worked at UNC Chapel Hill, Bluefield YWCA and as a substitute teacher for the Mercer County Board of Education.

It is especially gratifying to work with students who really want an education and are looking to Bluefield College as their entrée into adult life. Meeting these students and helping them through the admission process is extremely satisfying. I love meeting new people and developing new friendships while spreading the word about Bluefield College. ![]() Hey! My name is Kayla Anders and I am an admissions counselor at Bluefield College. I graduated in May 2009 from the College of William and Mary with a BA in Psychology and a minor in History. Throughout my college career, I participated in activities such as the National Society of Collegiate Scholars Planning for College Success committee and the W&M Student Mentor Program. In these roles, I assisted high school seniors with the college application process and helped incoming freshmen students with everything from bed sheet sizes to class selection and registration. Soon after graduation, I began working as administrative assistant to the VP of Finance at Wytheville Community College. While I was thrilled to return to the college environment, I missed interacting with students on a day-to-day basis, which led me here to the BC Admissions Office. I loved everything about the college experience! I believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy those four years, discovering new interests and passions and determining the person they want to become, and hopefully I can help you begin your own extraordinary college experience here at Bluefield College. If there is anything I can do to assist you in your college search and application process, please do not hesitate to call me at 1-800-872-0175 ext.602 or email me at kanders@bluefield.edu.
