Bio

After homeschooling her four children K-12 for 23 years, Brenda became employed part-time at Bluefield College as the Fine Arts Community School Coordinator. She joined the BC staff full time in the fall of 2011 as an administrative assistant for enrollment management. She was soon promoted to an admissions counselor for online students before joining the Academic Center for Excellence, first as the Assistant Director of ACE and now as the Director of Academic Support and the Academic Center for Excellence.

Brenda loves encouraging students to develop good organization, time management skills and study habits. She says, “The students know that I love them. They also know that I am going to hold them accountable." She wants to see them succeed academically and she does all she can to provide them with the tools needed to make this happen.
 
Brenda is a Bluefield College graduate with an associate’s degree in Behavior Science and a bachelor’s degree in Management and Leadership. Brenda is currently working on her Masters of Education degree from BC.
 
She has been married for 37 years. She and her husband have four grown children who are all married. She has 5 grandchildren.
 
In her spare time, Brenda loves to spend time with family, tend her vegetable and herb garden, and read. She loves spending her quiet “empty nest” mornings studying her Bible and journaling. She is a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Princeton, West Virginia.
