Lewis Brogdon

Dean of Institutional Effectiveness & Research, Associate Professor of Christian Studies


Dr. Lewis Brogdon is the newly appointed Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Research and Associate Professor of Christian Studies at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia. He is the author of several books such as A Companion to Philemon (Cascade 2018), The Spirituality of Black Preaching (Seymour Press 2016), The New Pentecostal Message? (Cascade 2015), Dying to Lead (Seymour Press 2015), Hope on the Brink (Cascade 2013) and numerous journal articles and book chapters. He is a former Assistant Professor of New Testament and Black Church Studies and director of the Black Church Studies Program at Louisville Seminary. He has also taught at two Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Claflin University and Simmons College of Kentucky. He is a sought out preacher, lecturer, and panelist that receives invitations to the White House, is a regular guest on Black Politics Today, and presents workshops at major conferences like the Hampton Ministers Conference at Hampton University and the Global 21 Congress in Jerusalem.
