Sport Management Concentration Overview
Bluefield College’s Sports Medicine program is designed to cultivate health and fitness professionals who will impact various facets of human performance. The program provides the student with the knowledge, skills and abilities to assess and prescribe exercise for clients in a variety of health, wellness and fitness settings. Using a combination of classroom, laboratory, practicum and internship experiences, the program provides students with a thorough immersion into the field of exercise science.
Personalized attention is a core program feature. Moreover, we offer individualized instruction throughout all areas of the student’s academic experience. The Sports Medicine Lab is operated by professors, not graduate students or teaching assistants. Subsequently, professor and student interaction affords individualized learning experiences and unique career preparation.
Bluefield College’s Sports Medicine program is adaptable to individual needs and career goals. Students may personalize their Sports Medicine program to pursue careers in Therapeutic Exercise, Health Prevention, Personal Training, Wellness and Fitness, and Strength and Conditioning. Students also have the option to augment their program in favor of graduate school preparation for physical therapy school, occupational therapy school, medical school, and master’s level exercise physiology programs.
