PHS 1034 30 Introduction to Physical Science - Saturday Course taught by Margot Geisler. Adult students who are not currently enrolled in the degree completion program need to contact the Registrar’s Office to register for online classes. This includes “preliminary” students as well as re-applicants.
Registration & Payment Schedule
For online classes that begin January 14, 2009 registration will be open from 11/3/2008 – 1/7/2009. Payment must be made no later than January 9, 2009.
For online classes that begin March 16, 2009 registration will be open from 11/3/2008 – 3/9/2009. Payment must be made no later than March 11, 2009.
For Saturday courses registration will be open from 11/3/2008 – 1/9/2009. Payment must be made no later than January 13, 2009.
Please note: No late registration will be allowed. These deadlines help you, the student. It ensures that you have time to get textbooks and course materials prior to the beginning of classes. Some classes “meet” for such a short time that late registration really puts you at a disadvantage and Bluefield College wants to do all it can to help you succeed.
MyBC
MyBC is an online system available to all students that will allow you to register for online classes, check your account balance, pay your account online, view your current class schedule, check your grades, view and print your unofficial transcript, view your current grades and more.
Registering for Classes:
1. Using Bluefield College’s web site at www.bluefield.edu, select the RED MyBC icon found in the upper right-hand corner of the website’s homepage.
2. Login by entering your student ID number and password. Note: This IS NOT your SSN or your Library card number.
3. Select the Student tab.
4. Select the Courses icon.
5. Under the Course Registration section, select the Add/Drop Courses link
6. A message will indicate that students cannot add or drop courses at this time. Please do not be alarmed as the system defaults to the traditional student calendar. Simply continue by using the drop-down window to change the term to 2008-2009 SPRING (DC)
7. Adding Courses: If you know the correct course code and section number (e.g. MAT 1213 30) you may enter each class into the Add by Course Code section (be sure to space between the course department code (MAT) and the course number (1213). All online courses have a section number of 30 or 31. If you do not know the codes for your courses, you may click the Course Search tab to find and register for your classes. Only online courses are available for registration and these courses are designated by a white box in the Add column on the course schedule.
8. Once you register, for your convenience we suggest that you then simply follow the payment process below.
Payment:
1. Click on the Student tab.
2. Click on the My Account link.
3. Under My Account Info click on My Account Balances. Please note that charges for these online courses will not be posted immediately, but we recommend that you go ahead and make payment at this time.
4. Click on Make a Payment and follow instructions. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and E-check.
How much to pay? Tuition per credit hour is $230.00. For example, a 3 credit hour course is $690.00 and a 4 credit hour course is $920.00. If one of your courses is a science with lab, please add a $30.00 lab fee.

Below you will find more information about your responsibilities when it comes to dropping a course, checking your account balance, and more. Please give this information special attention! These procedures and policies are important to follow!
Dropping a Course:
If you need to drop a course, in the Student tab, click Courses, click the Add/Drop Courses link. Your current schedule will appear at the bottom of the page. Simply click the drop icon beside the course you want to remove. This option is available until the course registration deadline, which is one week prior to the course start date. After this date, please alert the Registrar’s Office of your intent to withdrawal from a course by emailing aparks@bluefield.edu or calling (276)326-4220. Please note that dropping a course may affect your financial aid status. The Financial Aid Department may be contacted by emailing ataylor@bluefield.edu or (276) 326-4223. Please see the following policies for additional information concerning adding and dropping classes.
DROPPING CLASSES A student may drop a class during the first five business days of the semester and this course will not become a part of the student’s permanent academic record. After the first five business days of classes and up to the deadline to drop a class, a grade of “W” (withdrawal from the course) is issued. Last day to drop a Degree Completion Program or Online class with a grade of “W” is by the end of the third week of the course. Once a student attends the first class it is his or her responsibility to drop the course by officially notifying the Registrar’s Office. Dropping a course without official notification earns a grade of “F.”
ADMINSTRATIVE DROPPING FROM A COURSE A student will be administratively dropped from a course if he or she does not attend the first class and this course will not become a part of the student’s permanent academic record. First class attendance for an online course is based on the student logging in to the course and visiting the content area. Once a student attends the first class it is his or her responsibility to drop the course by officially notifying the Registrar’s Office and requesting to be dropped with a grade of “W.”
FINANCIAL POLICY Payment must be made prior to the start date of the course. If payment is not received by this date, the course will be dropped from the student’s record and charges will be removed for their account.
