Director of Athletics
Leadership and Management of the Athletics Department
Bluefield College invites applications for the position of Director of Athletics. Bluefield is a Christ-centered institution, will compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in the NAIA in 2014, and is a Division 1 member of the NCCAA. This full time position will report directly to the President and is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the athletics department. The department consists of head coaches and assistant coaches for 14 varsity sports, as well as athletic trainers, sports information director, faculty athletics representative, division manager, and student interns.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: fiscal management; assist in hiring of qualified personnel; oversee eligibility and compliance; ensure proper game day management; fundraising; train and develop coaches and staff; develop positive relationship with campus and local community; participate in conference and association meetings within the NAIA, AAC, and NCCAA; participate in college leadership meetings and serve on various committees; strategic planning; general department operations.
Qualifications: Ability to integrate Christian faith and athletics; Master’s degree; must be in agreement with and committed to Bluefield’s core values and statement of faith; 3-5 years of work experience in collegiate athletics
