Apply For Assistance

Due to the COVID-19 crisis this program has been postponed until Summer 2020

Every summer during the last week of June, youth from Baptist churches across Virginia converge on the campus of Bluefield College for the purpose of restoring homes in the community as part of a program called Impact Virginia.

Sponsored by the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV), Impact Virginia is a one-week mission opportunity for youth that focuses on home repair for low-income families and spiritual growth for teens. As a host site for Impact Virginia through the years, Bluefield College has helped facilitate the restoration of countless homes throughout southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia. The work in years past has included repairing and constructing porches, ramps, handrails, flooring, roofs, windows, plumbing, and landscaping for low-income homeowners.

Area residents with limited resources whose homes are in need of repair are invited to submit an application to be considered for Impact Virginia. Applications can be submitted online by completing the form below or by downloading, printing and mailing a hard copy form to Bluefield College, Impact Virginia, 3000 College Avenue, Bluefield, VA 24605.

Homeowners must live within a 30-minute drive of Bluefield College and must demonstrate a need for assistance with their home improvement projects. Homes must also be owner occupied to be eligible for service. For more information, email Hal Keene at or call 276.326.4209.
