Experienced artist Sarah Cecil will be offering two separate painting classes for children and their parents this spring. The class covers palette creation along with the proper use of various brushes. Students will also learn how to create texture, and execute shading and highlights.

$25 per class (parent/child)
Learn the basic methods of centering clay, forming cylinders and bowls, adding handles, and finishing pots using decorating and glazing techniques. There will be an $18.00 supply fee, which will be collected on the first night of class.
Mondays, February 10th - March 30th from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
$125 + a $25 registration fee and an $18 materials fee
Sarah Cecil instructs students on creating a beautiful wreath from beginning to end. Welcome spring with a new wreath for your front door or entryway. All materials will be provided.
March 21st, 10:00 a.m.
This class covers every step of Chalk Painting including cleaning, painting, distressing, sanding and waxing.
Students will need to bring a wooden item (small chair, stool, little table).
All other needed materials provided – brush, paint, sanding (wet or dry) and wax.
Learn one of the oldest forms of Appalachian art from a 3rd generation basket weaver. Participants will be learning the art of basket weaving while making the Artisan Tote. This useful classy basket begins with a solid poplar base, basic over/under weave, and a technique that covers the weaving material with special seagrass given the basket a unique look. This 11 ½” X 11” tote is completed with leather handles. Materials for the tote basket will be provided. Students will need to bring the following supplies: spray bottle, an old towel, scissors, and a bucket. A minimum of 5 students needed to hold the class.
