I love calligraphy! And I want you to love it too! Let’s practice together.

Are you ready to learn the basic calligraphy font of Chancery Cursive (a branch of the italic font)? This is the most taught of all the calligraphy fonts. You will learn the basic strokes and the lower case alphabet using a pointed pen and ink during our class sessions. This class is designed for beginner level calligraphy. You do not have to have any prior experience with calligraphy, (or even pretty handwriting) to benefit from this class. At the end of the initial calligraphy class, you can expect to have the tools and a foundational knowledge of Chancery Cursive Calligraphy. Included:

  • approximately 10 hours instruction
  • practice paper
  • dip pen
  • one pot of black ink
  • one pot of nib cleanser
  • lower case and upper case exemplars
  • symbols and numbers exemplars
  • lots of extra resources

Joan E. Moore, Instructor: "I have been retired for the past two years. In my quest to be involved in my community and continue to grow as an individual, I have become involved in several venues. Having a love for calligraphy, I decided to I wanted share this art form and teach this “beautiful writing” to others."
