Learn one of the oldest forms of Appalachian art from a 3rd generation basket weaver.  Participants will be learning the art of basket weaving while making the Artisan Tote.  This useful classy basket begins with a solid poplar base, basic over/under weave, and a technique that covers the weaving material with special seagrass given the basket a unique look.  This 11 ½” X 11” tote is completed with leather handles. Materials for the tote basket will be provided.  Students will need to bring the following supplies:  spray bottle, an old towel, scissors, and a bucket.  Minimum of 5 students to hold the class.
