Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Overview

The goal of the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Certificate is to foster imagination and inspire an entrepreneurial spirit—one that enables both today's business owners and tomorrow's to discover innovative solutions.

It’s not only what students learn, but how they learn that will set them apart. In addition to studying both technical and business languages, students work on real-world projects, getting hands-on, practical experience that is immediately applicable. The faculty possess excellent academic credentials and diverse experience in small businesses, government, and major corporations.

The Entrepreneurism certificate is a great platform for pursuing undergraduate academic and professional work. This professional certificate's capstone course teaches participants how to finalize their business plan and practice execution steps needed to manage a successful business. The curriculum is overseen by an advisory board of business entrepreneurs and education leaders and approved by the Bluefield College Department of Business.

The program is a blend of Webex sessions, online learning, and "field" based projects. Participants will work with local or regional business owners with advisory board support. A completed business plan, final presentation to an advisory board, and e-Portfolio are used to track project work and overall results.
