The Bluestone Review a literary journal published annually by Bluefield College students since 1994.
Under the direction of faculty advisor Dr. Rob Merritt, professor of English, The Review features poems, short stories, fiction, creative nonfiction, song lyrics, photographs, paintings and drawings contributed by not only BC students, faculty and staff, but also members of the community at-large.
Submissions to The Review from the community with a special call to students of Bluefield College are encouraged and may be offered via email and postal mail, though email is preferred. Work may also be submitted using our online form (see below). Literary submissions must be 750 words or less. No more than five submissions will be accepted from one contributor. Contributors are asked to include with their submission their name, address, contact information, and one biographical sentence.
Once published in the spring of each year, a copy of The Bluestone Review is made available for free to contributors at various locations on the BC campus and in numerous local bookstores for $2 for non-contributors. In addition, Bluefield College hosts a reception each spring, typically in April, celebrating the release of The Bluestone Review at which time contributors have the opportunity to read or present their works.
