While it may be one of the newer majors on campus, the Bluefield College Forensic Science Program is one of the more popular ones among prospective Bluefield College students. With classes focusing on Chemistry and Criminal Justice, a degree in Forensic Science will prepare you for work in this exciting field, whether it be working in the lab or working in the field. As a Bluefield College student in the Forensic Science program, you have the opportunity to join the American Chemical Society. Membership with this organization allows you to attend various local, regional, and national conferences where modern research in chemistry is presented and discussed, vendors offer services, and career services can be assessed.
Another great thing about the Bluefield College Forensic Science program is the class size. Here at Bluefield College, we’re proud of the fact that our average class size is 15 and our student to faculty ratio is 13:1. Our small class sizes allow for individualized attention between the students and their professors.
Throughout the program, you will be taking classes in both the science and criminal justice departments. Both of these areas have professors with extensive experience in their fields. In fact, 83% of the faculty at Bluefield College hold their terminal degree. Knowing this, you can be assured that you will be receiving a high quality education that will prepare you for a career in your field of choice.
