Mike White will enter his seventh season at the helm of the Rams baseball team at the start of the 2011-2012 season. Under his direction the program has made great strides competing in tournament competition 4 out of the last 6 years, and has an overall record at BC of 180-127.
In 2011, Coach White led his baseball team to a 27-26 overall record, and finishing the season on a high note by winning 17 of the last 22 games in the season.
In the 2010 season, the Rams returned to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series, this year however they fell short of capturing a second national title with their second place finish losing to North Greenville 7-6 in 10 innings in the championship round. The Rams also lost the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) championship game to Tennessee Wesleyan to finish the regular season with a 38-14 record.
In the 2009 season, the Rams won Bluefield College's first ever National Championship when the Rams traveled to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series and went undefeated in tournament action.
White who also got his 100th win on April 29, 2009 versus Bryan College, White was also named as NCCAA Coach of the Year.
In the 2008 season, they broke the school record for wins (33) in only his third season. "My first season here, I took the job at Thanksgiving and we were very limited that season," said White. The Rams also traveled to the NCCAA national tournament where they were two and out.
In the 2007 season, Bluefield College captured the NCCAA Mid- Atlantic Championship. They traveled to compete in the NCCAA World Series where they finished fourth. White was chosen as the 2007 Mid- Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.
Before coming to Bluefield, White served five years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UVA-Wise. He holds many offensive records for the school and was inducted into the UVA- Wise Hall of Fame in 2001 for his on- field accolades. He was a three- time All-Conference selection, two- time All-Region, and All American selection while at Wise.
Mike—a native of Castlewood, VA—is married to the former Michele Addison. They have two children—Dalton, age 16 and Conner, age 8.
