Women's Volleyball team wins opening scrimmage over Bluefield State

The women's volleyball team opened their 2011 campaign at home today with an easy win over neighboring, Bluefield State.

It didn't take long for first year head coach Brian Votaw to start his winnings ways. 


The Bluefield College Volleyball team got off to a good start for their scrimmage season as they defeated Bluefield State by the score of 25-6 and 25-8. 


Leading the way was Junior MH Megan Randall with 14 kills.  Junior setter Cheznee Daily handed out 15 assists to go along with 6 digs.  Freshman Katey Hall was perfect from the serving line with three aces.  Senior Yeda Duarte lead the team in digs with 11. 


The Lady Rams will travel to UVA-Wise tomorrow evening for their first regular season match of the 2011 fall schedule. The women will be home for the first time on Sept 9 against AAC opponent, Tennessee Wesleyan College.
