Women's volleyball team drops two games on Friday

Montgomery, West Virginia- The Bluefield College Women's volleyball team played two games on Friday evening in the WV Tech Volleyball Tournament. The women came into the tournament with a 0-1 record after losing their first regular season game to UVA-Wise on Thursday night in Wise, Virginia.
The first game matched the Lady Rams versus the host program, West Virginia Tech.
Bluefield lost a tough fought match to West Virginia Tech 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, 26-24.
Megan Randall had 17 kills, Katey Hall had 8 and Ashley Strickland had 7. Cheznee Daily handed out 31 assists and Yeda Duarte had 35 digs.
In the 2nd match of the day, Asbury (Ky.) defeated Bluefield College by scores of 25-8, 25-19, 25-11. Ashley Strickland and Cheznee Daily had 6 kills each. Yeda Duarte had 10 digs.
Bluefield will have the rest of the Labor day weekend off, and will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Virginia Intermont in their conference opener. Virginia Intermont is 2-0 to begin the season with wins over Pikeville and Johnson Bible.
The ladies will play their first regular season match next Friday as well. The Lady Rams will host Tennessee Wesleyan at 5:00pm.
