Waleska, Ga.- The lady rams volleyball team dropped its third AAC match in a row on Monday to Reinhardt University in a close four-set match, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18 and 25-23.
The two teams came into the match with similar records, as both programs continue to make strides in the lower half of the current conference table.
Megan Randall highlighted the Lady Rams' evening with 20 kills in the match, while Ashley Strickland added 11 kills as well.
Defensively, the Lady Rams got help from Yeda Duarte who recorded 21 digs. Three other players contributed well for Bluefield in the digs category too in Strickland (14), Elledge (13) and Paynter (11).
The Lady Rams kept the match close in each of the four sets, but gave up two unfortunate late runs by Reinhardt to let their leads slip away. The fourth set was the tighest set of the contest as BC lost 25-23 despite a few controversial calls by the officials.
"Our girls flat-out battled tonight", exclaimed head coach Brian Votaw. "I really thought we were the better team tonight, but unfortunately we gave up a couple short runs to them, and that's all they needed."
The Lady Rams will have a few days off to prepare for another road game before they travel to non-conference opponent, Randolph College, on Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg.
