Brevard, N.C. - Three first half goals by Brevard College helped lead the Tornadoes over the Bluefield Lady Rams 4-0 in a lopsided contest on Saturday afternoon in North Carolina.

Tracy Muncy recorded 15 saves in 80 minutes of play for the Rams (0-5), while Chelsea Hardy added five saves as Bluefield fell for the fifth time in the 2011 season. The torandoes also combined two different goalkeepers to gain the shutout for the home team.

The Tornados attacked the net early and often as Brevard recorded 32 shot attempts in the game and 24 shots on target, with Varley putting Brevard on the board in the seventh minute of play as she collected the through ball from Elena Crowe, leaving her one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Varley touched the ball past the keeper and into the net, recording her first goal of the 2011 season and putting Brevard up 1-0.

The senior forward struck again in the 22nd minute as she intercepted a goal kick and immediately sent it to the far post, catching the Bluefield keeper of guard and settling into the net to put the Tornados up 2-0 in the first half.

Dunn followed three minutes later, going up in the box on the corner kick from Jamie Bundy and slammed the header into the net past the keeper to give BC a commanding 3-0 lead.

Jenkins added the final score in the 59th minute of the match as Carolyn Anderson laid the ball off to the freshman from Reidsville, N.C. and she lasered a rocket into the net from 25 yards out to conclude the scoring.

Courtney Patterson and Courtney Bell each recorded shots on goal for Bluefield in the contest as the Rams attempted to comeback, but Brevard did well to stop any momentum shift. The win was Brevard's first on the season, while the Lady Rams are still in search of their first victory of the season.

The Lady Rams will have a week to prepare for a tough home conference match against Milligan College next saturday at East River Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 4pm EST.
