Bluefield, Virginia- On Saturday, the women's soccer team will host the 1st Annual Bluefield College 7v7 Spring Friendlies event at the East River Soccer Complex starting at Noon Eastern time.

Bluefield invites several different collegiate programs to Bluefield for the Spring Friendlies including Southern Virginia University, Hollins University and Milligan College. All three teams were similar opponents of the Lady Rams from the 2011 season. One of the three teams will be an opponent for Bluefield in the upcoming 2012 season.

The Lady Rams will be playing each of the three teams on smaller-sided fields and in condensed time of games as well.

Not only is this a great opportunity for the teams to gain high-level experience in their shortened spring season, but also allows the Lady Rams and others to see a variety of programs in a small amount of time.

The round-robin format of matches will begin at Noon on Field Two at the East River Soccer Complex and will conclude around 5:30pm.

The Lady Rams will host the Friendlies before they travel to North Carolina next weekend for another set of spring matches when they take on Brevard College next Saturday. They will follow up that match with another match against a Premier League Youth Club in NC.

Bluefield will use their spring season as a great way to keep their program moving in a professional and competitive direction.
