Bluefield, VA-- Women's soccer team was shut out by Division III power-houses, Guilford College and Randolph-Macon, this past weekend.
The Lady Rams traveled down to North Carolina Wesleyan College to compete in the NCWC Fall Classic on Friday and that night, took on Guilford College. Guilford out-shot the Lady Rams 26 to 5 and although 5 goals were allowed, goalkeeper Jackie Gonzales came up with 6 saves, before freshman goalkeeper, Ashley Peyton entered the goal. Peyton tallied 3 saves in the end of the match.
On Saturday, the Lady Rams took on Randolph-Macon, ranked second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Peyton started her first match of her career here at BC, allowing 5 goals but netting 2 big-time saves. At the half, Jackie Gonzales took control of the goal, allowing 1 goal and netting 5 saves. Despite being defeated 6-0, the Lady Rams still held strong for 90 minutes, never giving up on a ball and tallying 9 shots.
The Lady Rams will play their first conference match of the season, traveling to Milligan College this Wednesday.
