Bluefield, Virginia- The women's soccer team is proud to announce the signing of two goalkeepers for the 2012 signing class to play at Bluefield College this upcoming fall year.
Staying local, Head Coach Samantha Snow headed south to Pulaksi County Hish School to sign Victoria Duncan, a senior goalkeeper from the girls team.
A big day in Pulaski County girls soccer history, as Duncan becomes the first player in the history of the program to sign collegiate soccer at the next level.
The second signing is high school and club standout from Kennesaw, Georgia, Emily Bechke.
Bechke, voted defender of the year in 2011 at Kennesaw Mountain High School, is the starting Varsity goalkeeper for her highschool side as well as her club team.
She plays club soccer for West Metro out of Paulding County. Her side recently won the infamous Nike Norcross Cup, as Bechke assisted her team in winning the final game when she stopped three of the five penalty kicks to clinch the victory.
Originially a native of Cleveland, Ohio, Emily has lived with her family in Georgia for the past nine years. She enjoys working and volunteering around children while coaching a U-5 girls team.
Stay tuned for more women's soccer news in the coming weeks as well as a schedule and roster release down the road.
