Jamestown, North Carolina- It hasn't taken long for the Lady Rams basketaball program to hit the recruiting trail following postseason play, as the women's basketball coaching staff is proud to announce the signing of junior college standout, Asia "Cam" Wheeler".

A native of Bronx, New York, Wheeler was named an "All-Bronx Second Team" member in 2010 during her final high school career at Columbus High School.

The 5'11" forward went on to play two seasons at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, North Carolina. She made an immediate contribution for the Lady Titans, earning team MVP as a freshman.

Furthermore, she went on to be a 1st team All-Region, 1st team All-Academic and a player for the NJCAA all-star team in 2011.

During her recent 2012 season campaign, "Cam" snagged the NJCAA Region X Player of the Year award averaging a hefty 20 ppg and 14 rpg on the season.

Wheeler holds the all-time career record for both total points and rebounds in Guilford's womens basketball history. Not only is it obvious Wheeler has high expectations for herself as a student-athlete early in her career, but also how she finishes.

Her move to a vastly-improving and record-breaking Lady Rams team will speak volumes of how Bluefield Women's basketball will continue to set the bar high for their success in the future.

The Lady Rams finished the season with a record 22 wins in 2012 and would look to restock a senior-heavy lineup that includes two of the top three team's leading scorers.

Wheeler will be a part of the incoming class for the 2012-2013 season that will not only help on the offensive end, but also help tighten up their post-play on both ends of the floor especially with the jump to the NAIA Division 1 level.
