Bowen Field, Bluefield Virginia- No one could have written a better storytale end to the conclusion of game one against Tennessee Wesleyan except maybe the Bulldogs.

On Saturday, the Rams trailed 4-0 entering the sixth inning until fate stepped in. Maybe a little bit of luck, and a whole lot of momentum...pushed Bluefield into the bottom of the 7th with two outs and down a run at 4-3.

After two hits by the Rams- and a gutsy decision on Wesleyan's part to try to squeeze out the win- turned out to go in favor of Bluefield as both runners would score on a overthrown ball past second base and into the right field fence.

This play was the scene and perfect storyline for Coach Mike White's historic afternoon in his seventh season as head coach of the Bluefield College baseball program.

The dramatic come from behind win gave White his 200th career win in a Bluefield uniform and gave the Rams its 21st win of the 2012 season.

Coming to Bluefield for the 2006 season, White inherited a team with none of his own recruits and struggled to find the winning column going just 12-26 in his first season. This would be White's only losing season in his seven seasons at Bluefield to date.

He would follow his first season up by getting Bluefield in the plus by getting the Rams to a 24-23 record for the year. They also won the NCCAA Mid-Atlantic Championship in 2007.

Each season from 2007-2010, Bluefield baseball improved its total winning percentage and total wins by at least seven each season. After a 32-win finish in 2008, the Rams came back in 2009 to secure the program's first-ever NCCAA National Championship World Series.

During that season, White earned not only his 100th career victory at Bluefield but also nabbed the NCCAA National Coach of the Year honor as Bluefield finished at 39-14.

His team would increase the amount of wins even more in 2010 when they went 41-16 reaching the 40+ win mark for the first time in Bluefield baseball history.

His team made it once again to the NCCAA World Series Championship Game, but dropped in the finale 7-6 in ten innings to North Greenville University.

Last season, his team went above .500 finishing at 27-26 before losing in the NCCAA Mid-East Regionals in postseason play.

With his 200th win, Coach White has become a staple at Bluefield College with his winning ways and has become a model for collegiate coaches in the Appalachia.

Bluefield currently sits at 21-17 overall this season and in their final season within the AAC before moving into the Mid-South Conference in the 2012-2013 year.
