WBB's Teqa McNeal earns AAC Player of the Week award By Sports Information Department BC | February 6, 2012 | RSS Bluefield College Athletics Sports Information Department Bluefield, Virginia Asheville, North Carolina- The Applachian Athletic Conference has announced its weekly all-conference honors and Bluefield women's basketball player, Teqa McNeal earned the player of the week award for the conference. McNeal, a sophomore guard from Columbia, South Carolina, played a huge role in the success of her team's 3-0 record in last week's action. All three games were in conference contests and two of three were in the road. In the first two contests, McNeal averaged 26ppg and 5.5 rpg en route to beating previously #18-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan 71-67. She came back to score just five points in the final dominating performance of the week at Reinhardt, but she played limited minutes in the 19-point blowout. All three wins were clean season sweeps of all three opponents and McNeal's offensive outburts played a huge role in lifting her team's confidence last week. McNeal averages just under 15ppg and sits at 5th in the current AAC point leader charts. Her big 31-point explosive output last week is also good for the 5th most in the conference this season. Herself and the Lady Rams squad will look to continue their great play when they host a big matchup against Montreat on Wednesday at 5:30pm EST. First place is on the line.
