Watson Named All-Regional

Junior Jefferson Watson was selected to the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Mid-East All-Region Team.

BLUEFIELD, Va. – Junior Jefferson Watson was selected to the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Mid-East All-Region Team.

Watson anchored the Rams defense in 2012, posting a 2.82 goals-against average and a .693 save percentage. The Woodbridge, Va., native recorded three shutouts, increasing his career total to six.

“Jefferson had a great year in goal for us this season,” said head coach Peter Dryer. “The stats don’t tell the whole story, and I was happy to see him get recognition for his efforts.”

Union University’s Guilherme Reis is the Mid-East Regional Player of the Year while Union’s Clovis Simas earned Coach of the Year.

A total of 14 men earned Mid-East All-Regional honors.
