
Visiting Professor Teaches Chinese Culture
As part of its ongoing academic and cultural exchange with the Jiangsu Institute of Education in China, Bluefield College welcomed Professor Zhang Jianjun to campus this fall to teach courses and lead discussions for students and the community.

A professor of English at the Jiangsu Institute in Nanjing, China, Professor Jianjun will be teaching classes and leading discussions on Chinese culture, history and language during sessions on Tuesdays, October 16, October 23 and October 30, all beginning at 7:00 p.m. in 101 Lansdell Hall.
“This is a great opportunity for not only our students, but local residents to learn more about the Chinese culture first-hand,” said BC professor Walter Shroyer, who has participated in BC’s China exchange by teaching at Jiangsu in the spring of 2011.
All sessions with Professor Jianjun are open and free to the public at-large. In addition, local schools and civic clubs are invited to contact the college to arrange a visit or speaking opportunity.
