Two fall sports players receive POW honors in AAC

Earlier this week, the Appalachian Athletic Conference awarded Bluefield's Yeda Duarte (Women's volleyball) and Jefferson Watson (Men's soccer) with all-conference weekly honors.
Duarte was named AAC Libero of the Week for the Lady Rams after helping her squad win three straight matches including their first conference win at home over Tennessee Wesleyan.
While as a team, Bluefield College ranks number 20 in Division I in digs per game (17.960). Duarte ranks number 5 nationally in Division I NAIA in digs per Game (6.280).
The Lady Rams will be back in action on Tuesday when they play host to their second conference match of the season against Montreat College at 6:30pm.
The second honoree for Bluefield Athletics from the weekly awards in the AAC was GK Jefferson Watson. Watson, a sophomore goalkeeper from Woodbridge, Va., posted three shutouts in helping Bluefield to a 2-0-1 record last week. In 290 minutes of scoreless action, he recorded 17 saves total, six against NCCA D-2 side, Brevard College last Saturday.
Over the past ten days, Bluefield has posted a 3-0-1 record while outscoring their opponents 10-1. The Rams will have five days until their next match which will be at home when they open up conference play against Milligan College on Saturday afternoon.
