Bluefield, VA—Taylor Stynes signed on as the newest addition to the 2011 Lady Rams soccer team.

Stynes who currently is captain for the Eastern View High School cyclones has had quiet the record breaking high school soccer career, receiving numerous district and school awards during her tenure at EVHS. In 2010, she was an All- District recipient at EVHS and before that received captain status and the Most Valuable Player award during her freshman year at Highland School in Warrenton, Virginia.
She is probably best known for being a versatile player on the field where she will play anywhere from mid- fielder to forward and then defensively for the Cyclones. She was the leading goal scorer as a mid- fielder until she was moved to center defense in the early part of the season. Stynes was named to the varsity roster as a sophomore while attending Highland School where she received All- Conference honors as a mid- fielder.
Stynes was drawn to Bluefield for the location as well as being able to make an instant connection and impact on the team.
"The small size of Bluefield College really appeals to me and what I am looking for in a college. The people I have encountered are so personable, "says Stynes.
"When I visited back in January with Coach Sam [Bluefield College Head Coach Samantha Snow] right away I felt welcomed and I felt a genuine connection with her and the girls. This place felt like home, and I knew this is where I wanted to be. I'm thrilled for the opportunity to continue playing a sport that I love in college, and I can't wait to play it at Bluefield."
Stynes has also been a member of the U17 Elite Soccer Organization of Charlottesville- Albemarle (SOCA) Storm travel team out of Charlottesville, Virginia. In 2006-2008, she was a participant in Super- Y which is the highest form of United States and Canadian youth league soccer. Stynes participated in the Virginia Olympic Development Program (ODP) where she was on the 1993 Virginia ODP Central District Team.
Stynes will play for the Lady Rams beginning in the Fall of 2011.
