Students Crown 2012 Homecoming Court

Bluefield College students crowned the school’s 2012 Homecoming Queen, King and Court during Homecoming festivities on campus, October 26.

Seniors Morgan Lloyd and Cheznee Daily were selected by BC students as Homecoming King and Queen, respectively. Students also chose Jahlisa Harvey, to reign as Junior Princess, Mallory Campbell as Sophomore Princess, and Elizabeth Decker as Freshman Princess.

 

Daily, the Homecoming Queen, is a senior from Mooresville, NC, majoring in exercise and sports science with teacher licensure. She is also minoring in criminal justice and is a four-year member of the women’s volleyball team, where she earned Academic All-Mid South Conference honors in 2012. The daughter of Tom and GayGayle Daily of Mooresville, Daily has also served as a BC Student Ambassador.

 

Lloyd, the Homecoming King, is a senior from Gum Spring, VA, majoring in history with teacher licensure. He is also a senior senator for BC’s Student Government Association (SGA) and is a member of the Student Union Board (SUB) and Beta Chi Delta fraternity. In addition, Lloyd serves as a resident assistant on campus and as a youth minister for a church in Marion, VA.

 

Harvey, the Junior Princess, is a communications major from Pompano Beach, FL. She has played women’s soccer for three and is president of Kappa Psi Omicron sorority and vice president of the Association of Students for African American Prosperity (ASAAP). Harvey has also been involved with SGA and is a member of the Rams cheerleader squad.

 

The Sophomore Princess, Campbell, is from Dunnsville, VA. She is active in the BC Music Department as a member of Praise Singers. She is also a new member of AlphaDelta sorority.

 

The Freshman Princess, Decker, is from Martinsville, VA, and is double majoring in psychology and music. She is part of the BC music groups Variations and Bluefield Singers, and is a new member of Alpha Delta sorority. Decker also works with a children’s choir at a local church.

 

Other senior candidates for Queen included Angi Highlander of Hampton, VA; Ryan Talley of Chesterfield, VA; and Britny Paynter of Montpelier, VA. Other senior candidates for King included Josh King of Spotsylvania, VA; Matt Moore of Max Meadows, VA; and Caleb Bittler of Fincastle, VA.

 

Other candidates for Junior Princess included Danielle Preservati of Princeton, WV; Megan Hardison of Yorktown, VA; and Caitlin Allen of Bluefield, VA. Other Sophomore Princess candidates included Lacey Atwood of Marion, VA; Rachael Stairs of Beaverdam, VA; and Wully Rojas of Woodbridge, VA. Other candidates for Freshman Princess included Hannah Winter of Amelia, VA; Madison Fielder of Tazewell, VA; and Megan Campbell of Dunnsville, VA.
