Rams Drop Game Against Reinhardt January 29, 2011 | RSS Bluefield, VA-- The Bluefield College Rams basketball team lost 67-55 against conference foe Reinhardt University on Saturday at Waleska, Georgia. Brian Daniels netted five points for the Rams, he had two assists against Reinhardt. After playing Montreat College a day later than scheduled due to the weather this past week the Rams basketball team continued south to play against the Appalachian Athletic Conferences (AAC) fourth place, the 10-12 Reinhardt Eagles. With the loss the Rams now fall to fifth place behind Bryan College, Milligan College, and Union College, the Rams with their 8-14 record will play Milligan later this week. The Rams were led in scoring by Byron Carpenter who netted 17 points in the loss. Carpenter was 5-10 inside, 7-9 in free throws, and contributed five rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal. Carpenter was not the only Rams scoring double digit points netting 14 of his own point, Egor Shakhmetov was 5-8 inside with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal for the Rams. Also scoring for the Rams was the lone senior on the team Rob Wright who had six points added on. Wright was 2-5 inside and perfect in free throws with two, he also had three rebounds and one block. Brian Daniels added on five points for the Rams he was 1-5 inside, 1-2 in three pointers, and perfect in free throws with two. Daniels added on to the score with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Reinhardt had three players that had double digit points. Leading the Eagles was Ishmael John who netted 19 points, being 5-13 inside and having a perfect eight in free throws. Kevin Noorden added on 17 points and David Lawson contributed 15 points moving Reinhardt to 5-3 in the conference. The Rams will be back on the court with a home game in the BC Dome on February 2 a 7:30 tip- off is schedueled against Milligan College.
