RAMS ARE BACK ON THE GRIDIRON By Rudy Roediger | August 5, 2012 | RSS BLUEFIELD, Va. – Ram Football hit the gridiron for fall practice on Saturday, Aug. 3, in preparation for the program’s 21st season – first since 1941. Head Coach Mike Gravier and his staff indicated they expect 90 players to be in camp by the beginning of next week. That number included more than 70 true freshman who entered their first collegiate practice camp on Saturday. Bluefield College’s fall practices will include three weeks of preparation at the 10,000 seat Mitchell Stadium on Stadium Drive. The Rams’ 2012 season will begin in style on Saturday, Aug. 25, when the program hosts its first game since defeating Rio Grande, 30-7, on Thanksgiving Day, 1941. This year’s season and home opener is slated for a 1 p.m., kickoff at Mitchell Stadium against Pikeville (KY).
