August 5, 2012

BLUEFIELD, Va. – Ram Football hit the gridiron for fall practice on Saturday, Aug. 3, in preparation for the program’s 21st season – first since 1941.

Head Coach Mike Gravier and his staff indicated they expect 90 players to be in camp by the beginning of next week. That number included more than 70 true freshman who entered their first collegiate practice camp on Saturday.

Bluefield College’s fall practices will include three weeks of preparation at the 10,000 seat Mitchell Stadium on Stadium Drive.

The Rams’ 2012 season will begin in style on Saturday, Aug. 25, when the program hosts its first game since defeating Rio Grande, 30-7, on Thanksgiving Day, 1941. This year’s season and home opener is slated for a 1 p.m., kickoff at Mitchell Stadium against Pikeville (KY).

To order your tickets for the season opener on Aug. 25, individual game and season tickets see the Rams Gameday page.

Your college made a great decision picking Levy Thompson #71 for your football team. I know him personally and I know that he has worked hard all his life for his achievements. Playing football for college has always been a dream for him and now he is living it! Goes to show if he has a goal in mind he will suceed!

Mr. Rivaldo, due to the lack of internet strength we are unable to provide live video. Each home game will have a replay posted to allow everyone to watch the full game without interruption.

Thanks

I'm coming for the first time to watch the Rams butt heads with UVA Wise and witness for myself the enthusiasm and grit of this huge Freshman dominated team.

Your tenacity, focus and dedication are inspiring!

GO Rams!

#40 maybe your coach will realize that you you are not a safety you play d end (and although too small for college; linebacker). Perhaps Coach will consider creating a position called Rover (cross between linebacker & safety) and then watch you dominate on his field!! Utilize the talent!! Anyhow very happy that Bluefield has a football team again after 70 some odd years GO RAMS!!!
